These exciting UK kits come either with real DNA samples or with dye samples to simulate DNA. Dye kits do not need staining after the gel has been run making them quick and easy to use. For those who prefer to see authentic banding using actual DNA we offer the same scenario but using real DNA samples, these kits do take longer to complete as the gels will need staining and de-staining in order to visualise the DNA banding. Paternity testing is now very routine around the world. Give your students an understanding of this technique with these exciting electrophoresis kits! Compare a child′s DNA with their mother and two possible fathers. Students must match the banding pattern to work out the result. Additionally, advanced students can learn about short tandem repeats (STRs) _ a type of variable number tandem repeat (VNTR) using the kit. All you need: electrophoresis tank, power supply, fixed volume or adjustable 40μl micropipette and tips.
