All glass construction with silica sheathed heaters ensures top purity distillate at an economical price. Fitted with a control device to turn off the heater when the collecting reservoir is full. Prevents overflow if the still is inadvertently left switched on when unattended. With two independent safety thermostats to prevent over heating in the event of an interruption to the water supply.

The unique condenser design ensures that the droplets of distilled water remain in contact with the cooling coil for the longest possible time producing cold distilled water and pre-heating the boiler feed to increase efficiency.

Screwthreads are incorporated on all water connections so hoses can be fitted and removed easily and safely without risk of breakage. Built in acid addition funnel and drain stopcock allow easy de-scaling without dismantling the glassware. The stand is pre-drilled to facilitate wall mounting. Output: 4 litres/hr, single distilled.

Overall dimensions (W x D x H) 540 x 160 x 410mm. 220/240V.

PLEASE NOTE: Not supplied with 13A plug, as unit must be hard wired to mains supply via a 30mA RCD with over-protection and continuous current carrying capacity of 15A at 250V.

Q = What is the warranty period and do these require regular cleaning or maintenance?
A =  These do come with a 3 year manufacturer’s warranty.
However, the warranty only covers manufacturing faults and doesn’t cover damage to the glass during use. Also, the heating element is only covered for 12 months.
These (and most other) water stills must be hard-wired into a 15A mains spur, and for this reason do not come with a 3-pin plug fitted.

Water stills do require regular cleaning / maintenance, although this depends on the quality (hardness) of the water input and how much the still is used. The manufacturer recommends cleaning these every few weeks if used regularly or the water is hard, but it should not need doing as regularly if used less often or the water is softer. However, if they are not cleaned, and scale is allowed to build up, then the heating element can fail or become damaged.
